Hydraulic piston airless pumps

Hydraulic piston airless pumps are a type of pump that uses a hydraulic system to drive a piston within a cylinder. This piston generates high pressure that pushes fluid through the system, allowing paints, coatings and other materials to be applied with a smooth, controlled finish. This is how airless hydraulic piston pumps work:

  1. Hydraulic System: These pumps use a hydraulic system, which involves an incompressible fluid (usually oil) to transfer energy from the motor to the piston.
  2. Piston Drive: Hydraulic energy generated by the hydraulic motor is used to move the piston within the cylinder. The piston moves back and forth, creating an alternating action.
  3. Aspiration and Delivery: During the movement of the piston, a flow of fluid is created in the system. During the suction stroke, the piston moves backwards, creating a negative pressure which sucks the fluid from the source.
  4. High Pressure: During the dispense phase, the piston moves forward, creating positive pressure that pushes fluid through the system, including the hose and airless gun, toward the spray nozzle.
  5. Valves: The 2 intake and compression valves regulate the passage of fluid in the cylinder/piston group in order to obtain a uniform flow without pulsations. The WIT technology adopts a positioning of the valves such as to minimize the phenomenon of product cavitation.
  6. Spray Nozzle: As with other airless pumps, the spray nozzle is a key component. The high pressure generated by the hydraulic piston airless pump atomizes the material through the nozzle, creating a uniform finish.
  7. Flow and Pressure Control: Airless hydraulic piston pumps allow precise control of flow and pressure through the control of the hydraulic system. This allows you to adjust the amount of material sprayed and the pressure.
  8. Application on Various Surfaces: These pumps are versatile and can be used on a variety of surfaces, such as walls, ceilings, furniture and other structures.
  9. Material Handling: Can handle a variety of finishing materials, including paints, enamels, protective coatings, and high viscosity materials.
  10. Maintenance and Cleaning: Regular maintenance and cleaning of airless hydraulic piston pumps is important to ensure proper operation and durability.

Airless Hydraulic Piston Pumps deliver the power of hydraulic energy to apply paint and finishing materials at high pressure, allowing for smooth and precise application. As always, it is vital that you use airless pumps safely and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
